a great deal & a great many

这一对短语都表示“许多”、“大量”之意，含义并无区别，主要是用法不同。

a great deal常与不可数名词连用;a great many则与可数名词的复数形式连用，它们的区别与much和many的区别相同。

a great deal的后面接名词时要加of;a great many则不用of。

a great deal(或many)和a good deal(或many)通用，但前者的语气比后者重。在口语里，常用a deal代替a great(或good)deal。

Summary：欧美市场围绕同一则新闻的另类解读有所复苏，但欧洲仍然受制于意大利预算和英国英脱欧前景的阴影，美国资产则因soft data超预期而相对表现更好。mid的重要性更大，贸易问题至少要在下周二之前完全让位。

It's perhaps the news from Bloomberg that Trump apparently predicts "great deal" with China on trade on Laura Ingraham's show which triggered the big rally of A share. But when I read into that news, what he is telling is he demand a great deal based on we have "drained" the US. After the noon, It's being registered that he meant that any deal with China will have to be great for the U.S. But the awareness was offset by the melody of "let you go" from CSRC. Even all the Asia bourses performed much better than previous session led by Nikkei and Kasdaq coupled with Mini Indu at 0.76%.

EU market opened almost flat while core like bund ,oat etc were in offer tone and periphery in bid tone. UST were kept under pressure all through the Tokyo time and even got worse since the market was caught off guard with the news that Italy eyes ways to reduce deficit in 2019 budget! EUR sharply flied on this news and soon turn down even deeper on another news Salvini's personal economic advisor Siri says Italy is not planning to alter deficit goal.

EMU beat HICP at 4:00 pushed EUR back to Asia time pivot at around 1.1380. But Italy missing Q3 prints spoiled the sentiment by pressuring down both EUR and FTSE MIB. Germany surprising HICP did the same thing but faded soon.

The ultra double hit came in turn from around 11:00 on. First, S&P said it sees a no-deal Brexit as a credit rating consideration for the UK government because it would result in a “moderate recession” for as many as 5 quarters, with the economy contracting by an estimated 1.2% in 2019 and 1.5% in 2020. Not sure if Trump's China headline or whatever the reason is, core bond market is trading lower. Equity market is higher but given the recent loss , it should be regarded as bouncing instead of sentiment reversal. When things like this take place, it can only indicate one thing: market is losing direction now. Why? I think the direction post Mid still confuse the market. Frankly speaking, a house loss would be unbearable hurt to Mr. Trump. But even if GOP sweep the congress again, I don't think trump could emerge again just like what we saw on Nov, 2016. He is the man of conflict, no harmony.
